POCUS Log

Terms and community rules

Last updated: 7 November 2026

These terms apply to the POCUS Log app and website, run by Dr Moustafa Elgohary (“we”). By using POCUS Log you agree to them. Contact: support@pocuslog.net.

What POCUS Log is

POCUS Log is a training logbook and learning community for point-of-care ultrasound. It is not a medical record, not a medical device and not a source of clinical advice. Nothing in the app, including comments from other users, replaces your own clinical judgement, local guidance or supervision.

Who can use it

You must be 18 or over. POCUS Log is intended for healthcare professionals and healthcare students.

Community rules

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. When you use Groups you agree to:

  1. Share only anonymised images. Never include names, dates of birth, hospital or NHS numbers, faces, wristbands, labels or anything else that could identify a patient, in images or captions.
  2. Be kind and constructive. No bullying, harassment, hate speech or discrimination.
  3. Keep it relevant and appropriate. No sexual, violent, offensive or unrelated content, and no advertising or spam.
  4. Treat comments as education, not as advice about a real patient’s care.
  5. Only share content you have the right to share, and follow your employer’s and regulator’s rules on images and confidentiality.

Reporting, blocking and removal

Every post and comment can be reported. Posts reported by several people are hidden automatically. Group admins can remove posts and comments in their group. You can block any user so you no longer see their content. We review reports and may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules, normally within 24 hours of being made aware. Report urgent problems to support@pocuslog.net.

Your content

You keep ownership of what you share. By posting to a group, you allow POCUS Log to store it and show it to that group’s members (for open groups, any signed-in user) until you delete it. You can delete your posts, comments or whole groups account at any time in the app.

Your private logbook

Your logbook is stored on your device and, if you choose, in your own iCloud Drive or Google Drive. You are responsible for keeping it, and any copies you export, appropriately.

No warranty

POCUS Log is provided free, “as is”, without warranties. We do our best to keep it working and your data safe, but we cannot guarantee it will always be available or error-free. To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from use of the app, including reliance on content shared by others.

Changes

We may update these terms. If changes are significant, we will tell you in the app. Continuing to use POCUS Log means you accept the updated terms.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
